Senior Manager – Architectural Process DesignLocation: Toronto / Woodbridge, Ontario, Canada (Hybrid)Industry: Architectural Building Products / Commercial ConstructionAbout the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Senior Manager – Architectural Process Design to lead a multidisciplinary design team responsible for delivering high-quality architectural solutions for custom ceiling and wall systems across North America.This leadership role will oversee design operations, resource planning, project scheduling, shop drawing quality, process improvements, and team development while collaborating closely with Project Managers, Architects, Contractors, and internal stakeholders.If you have a strong architectural design background, extensive leadership experience, and expertise in commercial construction or architectural products, we would like to hear from you.Key ResponsibilitiesLead, mentor, and develop a team of Architectural Designers, Senior Project Coordinators, and Design Supervisors.Manage project assignments, resource planning, team utilization, and workload balancing.Oversee the preparation, review, and approval of detailed architectural shop drawings using AutoCAD.Drive technical excellence, quality standards, and design best practices across the team.Develop and implement CAD standards, design procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve technical and design-related issues.Conduct performance reviews, coaching, succession planning, and employee development initiatives.Manage external consultants and freelance design resources when required.Provide project status updates and operational reporting to senior leadership.Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, efficiency, and design quality.Required QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Architecture, Architectural Technology, Architectural Design, or a related discipline.Experience10–15+ years of experience in Architectural Design, Commercial Construction, Building Materials, or related industries.Minimum 10 years of experience leading multidisciplinary design teams.Proven experience managing team performance, mentoring staff, and driving organizational development.Strong experience reviewing and validating architectural shop drawings.Technical SkillsAdvanced proficiency in AutoCAD.Strong understanding of architectural detailing, drafting standards, and commercial construction practices.Experience with SolidWorks is an asset.ERP system exposure is a plus.
