Food & Beverage Director
Senior Star is looking for an energetic and experienced Food & Beverage Director for Columbus's newest upscale senior living community, Harrison on 5th. They will be directly responsible for all food service personnel and operation of the kitchen and dining rooms and ensures a high quality dining experience for all residents and their guests. Required Education, Knowledge And SkillsAt least 5 years working and or management in the Food Service field, preferably in a Senior Living settingKnowledge of productivity, costs and budgets, purchasing and receivingKnowledge of proper sanitation techniques and storing systemStrong desire to improve the lives of seniors and an embracement of the Senior Star corporate mission and philosophyEssential Job Functions Responsible for Providing a High Quality Dining Experience Prepares and serves high quality meals in all dining rooms, following meal presentation standardsKeeps a complete food and supply inventoryPlans and promotes a dietary food services program that incorporates a wide variety of tastes, following menu requirementsFollows prime food vendor regulationsMaintains proper recordsPrepares meal cost summariesPurchases all food, kitchen supplies and kitchen equipment, using diligent and competitive purchasing programs and methodsSupervises a food services program that meets and exceeds the minimum requirements of a Senior Star Living® community Responsible for Overseeing the Sanitation and Regulations of Food ServiceOversees preparation and serving of meals in accordance with proper temperature and proceduresEnsures that proper sanitized cleaning solution and procedures are usedDirects general kitchen and dining room sanitation and routine preventative maintenance on equipmentComplies with all state, local or federal rules, regulations or licensing requirements related to health, safety (OSHA) and general operation of the department Responsible for Supervising Food and Beverage EmployeesTrains and retains a full dietary staff who are capable and motivated to provide an exceptional dining experience to all residents and guestsTrains staff on all emergency proceduresEnsures that all associates present a professional demeanor to residents and guests Responsible for Interacting with Residents and Other Departmental StaffHandles all resident complaintsCoordinates with the Program Director or Executive Director to plan special events#INDHFA
