Leonard Workforce Solutions is conducting a confidential search on behalf of a growing organization seeking a qualified candidate for the following position.Our client is an employee-owned research and engineering company delivering custom digital signal processing (DSP), RF, and geolocation systems in support of U.S. national security missions. They are seeking a talented, tenacious, results-driven System Engineer to join a multi-disciplinary R&D environment alongside electrical engineers, mathematicians, computer scientists, and analysts working on cutting-edge signal processing and geolocation systems.Primary ResponsibilitiesThe System Engineer will perform a variety of roles across engineering design and production teams. The position may include membership or leadership on a team executing a development contract, support for internal R&D efforts, or contributions to production and product sustainment activities. This is a high-autonomy role with responsibility for delivering results with little or no oversight, often working across multiple concurrent activities including design, test, production, proposal support, and customer interaction.Required Qualifications- BS or higher in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or Mathematics- 7+ years of experience as an engineer or developer (5+ years with an M.S.) in at least one of the following: Electronic hardware design, DSP design, FPGA implementation, RF system design and performance specifications, high speed networks, or software development- Experience developing and analyzing requirements- Experience reading and creating system and interconnect drawings for electronic, software, or mechanical systems- Ability to write test plans, procedures, and training material- Comfort with agile development methods in a dynamic environment- Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance- U.S. Citizenship requiredPreferred Qualifications- M.S. or higher in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or Mathematics (counts for 2 years of experience)- Experience developing system, software, and/or test architectures- Experience with electronic hardware production- Experience writing or contributing to proposalsWhy This Opportunity- Employee-owned company with immediate ESOP participation and vesting- 100% employer-paid family medical and dental, life, and short/long-term disability- 401(k) with employer match and discretionary contributions- Mission-driven work with direct impact on the U.S. Defense and Intelligence Communities- Collaborative R&D culture with autonomy and meaningful project ownership
