Visitor Center Attendant
Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as an Attendant. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing exceptional guest services and ensuring a memorable experience for all visitors.
Responsibilities:
- Provide excellent customer service to all guests
- Monitor and ensure the safety of guests, particularly children, in designated areas
- Assist with theater operations, including ticket sales and ushering
- Handle cash transactions and maintain accurate records
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned work areas
- Engage in public speaking when addressing groups of visitors
- Manage conflicts or issues that may arise with professionalism and tact

The Brown County Convention and Visitors Bureau is the official destination marketing organization for Brown County, Indiana. We're dedicated to promoting the tourism assets of the area and providing exceptional visitor experiences.
Role Overview:
As a Visitor Center Attendant, you'll serve as the first point of contact for visitors to Brown County. You'll provide information about lodgings, attractions, events, and historical sites, both in person and through various digital communication channels. This role involves maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the visitor center and assisting with daily operations.
Responsibilities:
- Provide detailed information to visitors in person, over the phone, and via digital channels.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the visitor center.
- Operate the Gift Shop POS system for retail transactions.
- Assist with special projects and events as needed.
Requirements:
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Knowledge or willingness to learn about local businesses, attractions, and events.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and strong internet research capabilities.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
- Flexibility to adapt to frequent changes.
- Availability for 14-25 hours per week, with flexible scheduling for both weekdays and weekends.
- Schedules are set 4 weeks in advance.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift to 50 lbs.
Qualifications:
- Strong interpersonal skills and knowledge of the local area.
- Prior experience in tourism or hospitality is a plus.
- Comfortable using computer systems.

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 30 per week
