Studio C, parent company of Celebration Cinema, One Twenty Three Tavern, Studio Park Lofts & Tower, and Show Span, is in search of an experienced, full time, Assistant Controller to join our corporate office team!The Assistant Controller plays a key role in supporting the organization’s financial operations and accounting processes. This position oversees daily accounting activities, ensures accurate financial reporting, maintains compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations, and supports process improvements across the finance department. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and experienced in managing multiple accounting functions in a fast-paced environment.Studio C exists to create space where story happens, and our corporate accounting team is a vital part of that process. If you have a passion for numbers, servant leadership and movies, then you may be just who we are looking for!ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:Oversee daily accounting operations including GL, inventory, fixed assets, sales tax, and cash managementReview journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close activitiesEnsure accuracy of financial records and compliance with company policies and GAAPSupport budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processesMaintain internal controls and identify process improvement opportunitiesAssist with audits, tax reporting, and regulatory complianceSupervise and support accounting staff development and performancePartner with operations and leadership on financial analysis and special projectsCoordinate financial reporting & payments with movie studios and distributorsQUALIFICATIONS and/or EXPERIENCE:3-5 years of accounting and leadership experienceProficient with Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel)Experience with Sage Intacct accounting software preferredDetail-oriented and organizedEffective use of both verbal and written communicationExcellent customer service skills and the ability to foster great relationshipsSelf-starter; self-motivated; takes initiativeExperience participating in financial audits or reviews is preferred, whether from the client side or as an auditor, but is not requiredAbility to:Interact with a wide variety of personnel within the organizationInnovate to improve business results (aka “Think outside of the box!”)Thrive in a collaborative environmentWork independently, solve problems, and take initiativeBe comfortable asking questions and learning multiple processesEmbrace our core values: Service, Trust, Empathy, Playfulness, CourageBENEFITS/PERKS:Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance, and Long Term DisabilityPTO and 401KPaid volunteer workEmployee Assistance ProgramFree Movies and Discounted Concessions!A fun, friendly, and encouraging culture in an exciting industry with endless popcorn refills!At Studio C, we celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment where all employees feel valued, respected, and empowered to succeed.
