DevOps Engineer

DevOps EngineerDevelopment operations (DevOps) engineers are responsible for the production and ongoing maintenance of platforms. They also manage cloud infrastructure and system administration and work with teams to identify and repair issues on an as-needed basis, so strong communication skills are important in this position. They are generally expected to work well under pressure with tight deadlines for certain tasks, and a proactive demeanor and friendly disposition are also helpful.ResponsibilitiesInfrastructure development and administration of distributed computing systemsUse automation tools like provisioning using Terraform, Gitlab, Docker, and ChefProvide assistance in Kafka brokers, zookeepers, Kafka connect, schema registry, Rest proxy and Datadog Kafka monitoringEnsure optimum performance, high availability and stability of solutionsCreate topics, setup redundancy cluster, deploy monitoring tools, alerts and has good knowledge of best practicesProvide administration and operations of the Kafka platform like provisioning, access lists and SSL configurationsAbility to manage priorities and workload while setting realistic and manageable expectations for project and task completion and adjusting as needed based on the business requirementsProvide support of cloud infrastructure and distributed systemsPeriodic tier-two+ on-call dutiesRequired Qualifications:AWS console and CLI –interacting with services and navigating to debug issues across those servicesTerraform – other infrastructure as code experience may be acceptedEMR – tuning, debugging, etc.IAM – create and manage roles, policies, etc.S3 – create and manage data storage policies, bucket events, bucket encryption, etc.
