Project Manager (Contingent Upon Award) with Security Clearance
The Project Manager will support the 35th Civil Engineer Squadron (CES) by planning, organizing, and leading infrastructure and facility-related projects across Misawa Air Base. This role ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with U.S. Air Force and host-nation requirements. The Project Manager evaluates program performance, ensures alignment with mission objectives, and provides data-driven recommendations to improve execution across planning, programming, design, and construction activities within an $80–120M annual portfolio. Key ResponsibilitiesPlan, organize, and lead projects to ensure delivery on time, within budget, and meeting quality standardsCoordinate project activities across planning, design, and construction phasesManage scope, schedule, cost, and risk to support successful executionCollaborate with engineers, contractors, and government stakeholders to drive project outcomesAssess program and project performance and provide data-driven recommendations for improvementsEnsure alignment with Air Force mission objectives and installation prioritiesEnsure compliance with U.S. Air Force standards and host-nation (Japan) regulationsMaintain project documentation, reporting, and database tracking systemsSupport administrative, financial, and program reporting requirementsRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Business, Project Management, or related field5+ years of project management or program coordination experienceExperience managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environmentStrong knowledge of project management principles (schedule, cost, risk, scope)Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skillsPreferred QualificationsProject Management Professional (PMP) certificationExperience supporting U.S. Department of Defense or Air Force programsFamiliarity with construction, infrastructure, or facilities-related projectsExperience with data tracking systems, reporting tools, or GIS platforms
