Job OverviewFHC is currently hiring for Primary Care Nursing positions. A successful candidate will experience a fast paced work day, a varied clientele and a supportive team environment. Examples of work responsibilities in this position include:Documents patient history and assesses chief complaints.Reviews charts and makes entries.Prepares patient and room for appropriate examination procedures.Assists providers with exams and procedures.Administers medications, injections, immunizations and venipunctures as ordered by physician.Handles all abnormal and normal lab test results according to protocol.Provides individual and group health education instruction and information.Provides appropriate patient care based on age appropriate growth and development principles.Assists in triage, handles patient inquiries, schedules appointments and assesses patient complaints via telephone and recommends appropriate action according to prescribed protocol.Performs nursing assessments and develops health care plans for patients.Performs basic laboratory procedures.Makes referrals to the RN, supervisor, physician, or Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner for situations requiring further intervention.Cleans, stocks and orders supplies for the examination rooms.Adheres to universal precautions.Cleans and wraps instruments for sterilization.Job RequirementsPossession of a current LPN license issued by the Kentucky Board of Nursing, or possession of a work permit to practice professional nursing in the State of Kentucky by endorsement.BenefitsFamily Health Centers is a family friendly work environment.
