The Manager, Project GC Accounting is a key management position with responsibility for all aspects of financial management and support related to ongoing construction operations activities for assigned JPI projects.The position works closely with the Construction team, to ensure that all project hard costs are appropriately accounted for and controlled. The position also works closely with the Project Owner Accounting team, to ensure seamless handover of financial data and processes related to project soft costs.Essential Functions & ResponsibilitiesHard Cost Transactions:Procore Project set upLink companies/suppliers to ProcoreSend budgets to WorkdaySend subcontractor invoices to WorkdayHard Cost Draw and Reporting Process:Send commitments to WorkdayCreate and Submit the Monthly Draw ReportCreate the Closing DrawSoft Cost Draw and Reporting Process:Support the Soft Closing DrawMaintain and process Funding SourcesProject Set Up:Create the Project PlanCreate the Resource Plan for ProjectProject Transactions:Create Accounting JournalsCreate Accounting AdjustmentsCreate Accounting ReversalsCreate Recurring JournalsMiscellaneous:Settlement Runs for Expenses and SuppliersProcurement Card Transaction VerificationProcess Supplier Invoice ExceptionsCreate Customer Invoices for Billable TransactionsRecord Customer PaymentsSupport Corporate Accounting with the close processOther Duties:Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies and proceduresMentor, train, manage, appraise and provide leadership for the Project GC Accountant teamEncourage personal development and professional growth for all members of the Project GC Accountant teamCoordinate the annual budget processLead and encourage all associates to document, enforce and continuously improve JPI financial procedures and policiesAct as a liaison with the Business Systems team to resolve systems issuesAct as a representative and advocate of JPI's Culture and Guiding PrinciplesEngage with Development Managers and team in monitoring project costs, and creating, reviewing and revising budgetsAssist Regional Development team with special projectsEducation, Work Experience, & Physical RequirementsBachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.6+ years experience in accounting, finance, and/or construction cost managementProficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.).Expert in JPI Finance Systems and Processes (Procore, Workday)Must possess a high level of professionalism, organization, attention to detail and the ability to maintain confidentialitySelf-starter and able to work with little supervisionHighly proficient in broader JPI business activitiesDemonstrated leadership and ability to coach and mentor othersWhy work for us?We have a 35-year track record of developing multifamily communities with responsibility, accountability, and integrity.
