Senior Manager of Sterile ProcessingLocation: Torrance, California, United States (Covering operations in both Torrance and San Pedro, CA)Employment Type: Full-Time | OnsiteThe Senior Manager of Sterile Processing is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing Sterile Processing operations at Little Company of Mary Medical Center in Torrance and San Pedro, CA. The position is instrumental in ensuring the safety, sterility, and efficiency of instruments and equipment used in surgical and interventional procedures.The role reports directly to the Executive Director of Perioperative Services and will lead strategic planning, operations, compliance, budgeting, and cross-functional collaboration with clinical and operational teams.Key Responsibilities:Lead, manage, and support Sterile Processing Departments at both Torrance and San Pedro facilities.Maintain strong collaboration with Perioperative, Interventional leadership, and clinical teams across South Bay Ministries.Develop and execute the strategic plan for Sterile Processing in alignment with hospital goals.Oversee regulatory compliance and ensure best practices in infection prevention and instrument processing.Supervise, train, and develop departmental staff.Manage operational budgets and ensure cost-effective departmental performance.Monitor and implement continuous improvement processes to maintain high-quality standards.Ensure instruments and equipment are properly cleaned, sterilized, maintained, and available for all surgical and interventional procedures.Serve as a point of contact for physicians, executive leadership, and accreditation bodies.Required Qualifications:Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business or a Healthcare-related field (Required)Certification (any one of the following required upon hire):National Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) HSPANational Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician CBSPDNational Certified Instrument Specialist HSPANational Certified Surgical Instrument Specialist CBSPDExperience:Minimum 7 years of work experience in Sterile ProcessingMinimum 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role within a hospital sterile processing departmentMinimum 3 years managing budgets and staffDemonstrated ability in staff development, regulatory compliance, and cross-functional leadershipIdeal Candidate Will Have:Proven leadership in high-volume hospital environmentsDeep understanding of sterilization protocols, surgical instrumentation, and infection control standardsEffective communicator and relationship builder across clinical and operational teamsAbility to analyze data and manage budgets effectivelyPassion for quality, safety, and continuous improvement in patient care support services
