Parker Meggitt, a recent addition to Parker Hannifin, is a global leader in the Commercial and Military Aerospace markets, specializing in a wide range of products including fire and smoke detection systems, extinguishing systems, bleed air overheat detection systems, actuators, rudder pedal assemblies, pumps, fuel gauging systems, and high-temperature cables. Located in Simi Valley, CA, this site is within the Fire Safety & Power Systems Division (FSPSD) and is a key supplier in select energy markets, particularly in nuclear gas analyzers and nuclear containment vessel penetration cables. We work directly with some of the largest aerospace companies in the world, including Airbus, Boeing, Embraer, and Lockheed Martin, among others. Embedded Software Engineer I Position Summary: The Embedded Software Engineer I designs, develops and debugs software, working in small teams to solve problems and explore technologies for new and existing core products. Responsibilities: Applies software standards and utilizes specifications to design, develop, integrate and test safety-critical software applications using standard and model-based development methodologies and tools. Authors design documentation and develops drivers for embedded devices, including microcontrollers and associated peripherals. Communicates status of work to supervisor or mentor. Performs, tracks and controls internal project activities. Creates periodical status reports for key functions Identify continuous improvement opportunities, including standardization of tools and processes. Works as part of a software engineering team using source control concepts Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance Qualifications: Experience using C at a low level (microcontrollers, drivers, interacting with hardware, etc…) C programming language, research and implement correctly rounded hypot and log functions, with POSIX.1-2017, ISO C and DO-178C standards Experience with Software verification of embedded systems programmed in C, Assembly and SCADE - Version Control and Configuration Management with AccuRev and DOORS System verification through lab equipment, multimeters and labview software interfacing with DAC/ADC Aerospace Software Engineering Compliance with DO-178B/C and Documentation, SOI Audit experience VB6 / VB.NET experience Experience with MS SQL Database and C++ DLL library functions for use in VB.NET program Ability to solve problems using a systematic and analytical approach Fundamental knowledge of engineering domain principles, concepts, and techniques Good oral and written communication skills Education & Experience: A bachelor’s degree in computer engineering or even Electrical Engineer degrees is required 0-2 year’s minimum experience Competitive Compensation Pay Range: $69,500 to $115,000 annually Participation in Annual Incentive Program Benefit & Retirement Plans Parker offers competitive benefit programs, including: Comprehensive coverage for medical, prescription drugs, dental, vision, voluntary optional life, accident insurance, hospital indemnity insurance and critical illness insurance with competitive premium cost. 401(k) Plan with company matching contributions at 100% of the first 5% of pay.
