Armed Security Guard Job DescriptionSummary/ObjectiveThe Armed Security Guard is responsible for providing professional armed security services at assigned client locations through active patrol, monitoring, incident response, and enforcement of company and client policies. This role maintains a visible security presence to deter criminal activity, protect people and property, and respond appropriately to emergencies and disturbances. Officers are expected to demonstrate professionalism, sound judgment, discipline, alertness, confidentiality, and strong interpersonal communication at all times while carrying a firearm and representing Denver Metro Security, Inc.Essential FunctionsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Maintain a visible and professional armed security presence to deter criminal activity, unauthorized activity, and policy violationsConduct foot patrols and/or vehicle patrols of assigned properties and client locationsMonitor buildings, grounds, parking areas, and access points for safety and security concernsObserve, identify, and report suspicious activity, hazards, damages, and policy violationsRespond promptly and appropriately to alarms, emergencies, disturbances, accidents, and incidentsEnforce client rules, company policies, post orders, and applicable laws within assigned authorityUtilize verbal communication and de-escalation techniques to manage confrontational situations whenever possibleSafely carry, secure, retain, and operate company-approved firearms and required duty equipmentEngage in physical intervention or defensive tactics when authorized and necessaryRequest assistance from law enforcement, emergency medical services, or supervisors when appropriateComplete accurate and timely Daily Activity Reports, Incident Reports, and other required documentationDocument patrol activity, incidents, observations, and investigations using company-approved systemsImmediately report significant incidents, injuries, use-of-force situations, equipment concerns, and client issues to supervisorsMaintain confidentiality regarding company operations, client information, incidents, and investigationsFollow all company policies, procedures, training requirements, and use-of-force standardsMaintain all required certifications, firearm qualifications, and licensing requirements for armed security workReport to duty on time, properly uniformed, mentally alert, and fit for dutyDemonstrate professionalism, courtesy, tact, neutrality, and discipline while interacting with clients, coworkers, and the publicFollow the established chain of command and carry out lawful and ethical instructions from supervisorsSafely operate company patrol vehicles while complying with all motor vehicle laws and company driving requirementsReport vehicle accidents, citations, damages, and driving incidents immediately to managementWork assigned schedules, including overnight shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as operational needs requireMaintain open availability for full-time scheduling considerationsAccept reassignment to different posts, patrol assignments, or client sites based on operational needsCompetenciesSituational awarenessProfessional communication skillsConflict resolution and de-escalationSound judgment and decision-makingIntegrity and confidentialityAccountability and dependabilityAttention to detailCustomer service orientationEmotional control and restraintAdaptability and flexibilityReport writing and documentation skillsTime management and punctualityAbility to follow instructions and chain of commandEmergency response preparednessDefensive tactics and firearm safety awarenessSupervisory Responsibility
