Position Type:Special EducationDate Posted:1/9/2026Location:Lower SchoolSpeech and Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA)FTE: 1.0 FTESalary Range: $35,000.00-$43,000.00Job Summary: The Speech and Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) will work under the direction of the Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP). Work involves providing direct instruction for students who qualify for speech services under the MN Special Education Speech Criteria. Serve as a member of the educational team by consulting and collaborating with the Supervising SLP, school staff, and Special Education team regarding services to students. Collaborate with content Speech and Language Pathologist, grade-level teacher and other staff.Essential Functions:Meet regularly with SLP in order to coordinate services, maintain timely documentation of services, update student information, and design therapy materials for intervention.Implement treatment plan and achieve goals proposed by SLP using creative activities based on the child's individual interests and motivators.Implement appropriate methods for meeting and documenting educational objectives for each child.Document daily progress after every therapy session.Evaluate student performance through data collection and complete Special Education due process paperwork as directed by the SLP.Report progress related to goals devised by SLP.Participate in parent and teacher communication.Complete screenings.Engage in age-appropriate instructional strategies for students with speech services.Provide differentiated instruction in elementary, middle school and/or high school.Create a safe and welcoming environment.Maintain therapy materials in an organized, clean and accessible manner.Communicate closely and encourage parental involvement regarding program goals, school functions and student progress.Infuse international-mindedness into methods for services on a continual basis.Attend weekly meetings and trainings, participate in regular planning and staff development activities.Maintain knowledge of current and emerging trends, procedures in language education.Participate in professional development for language immersion, Responsive Classroom, and the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program, Middle Years Program and Diploma Program.Required Qualifications:Must have a valid Speech and Language Pathologist Assistant certificate or degree.Preferences:Experience as a Speech and Language Pathologist Assistant.International Baccalaureate experience helpful.Spanish or Mandarin Chinese language proficiency preferred, but not a must.Physical Requirements:
