Welder - TIG 2nd Shift

Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated TIG Welder to join our dynamic fabrication team. In this role, you will be responsible for executing precise welding operations using Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding techniques to assemble and repair metal components. Your expertise will ensure that all welds meet strict quality standards, adhere to safety protocols, and conform to industry specifications. The ideal candidate is energetic, detail-oriented, and passionate about delivering top-quality craftsmanship. ***Hours are 2:00pm-10:30pm, Monday-Friday*** Responsibilities Perform TIG welding on various metal materials, including sheet metal and structural components, following detailed blueprints and technical drawings. Interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly. Utilize measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and shop math skills to verify dimensions and tolerances before welding. Prepare workpieces by cleaning, cutting, and fitting parts using hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, and press brake machines. Maintain adherence to AWS (American Welding Society) standards and ASME codes during all welding processes. Conduct quality inspections of welds using calipers, measuring instruments, and visual checks to ensure strength and precision. Follow safety protocols rigorously while operating equipment such as forklifts, rigging gear, and machining tools. Collaborate with team members on fabrication projects involving pipe threading, ductwork assembly, or metal fabrication tasks. Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and materials efficiently for optimal workflow. Qualifications Proven experience in construction site environments or manufacturing facilities with a focus on welding operations. Strong knowledge of TIG (GTAW), MIG (GMAW), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding), and gas metal arc welding techniques. Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and mechanical blueprint understanding. Ability to operate measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and shop math calculations accurately. Mechanical knowledge related to fabrication processes including sheet metal fabrication, pipe threading, plasma cutting, and assembly techniques. Experience working with construction equipment like cranes or forklifts is a plus. Knowledge of safety protocols specific to welding environments and construction sites. Ability to use hand tools, power tools, press brake machines, and machining equipment safely and effectively. Strong communication skills with the ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics clearly. Prior experience in a fabrication shop or manufacturing setting involving metal materials is highly desirable.
