Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan.Key Requirements and Technology Experience:We are seeking a seasonal employee like you to provide support to the watermelon breeding and product development team.The intern will work with research and breeding programs to learn techniques and decision-making criteria as it relates to vegetable hybrid/cultivar development.Assist in breeding programs and product development with field phenotyping and data captureAssist in harvest and yield data collectionHelp to execute greenhouse planting and on farm field trial execution, observation, and evaluationAble to regularly lift 50 lbs.Knowledge, Skills and AbilityExcellent written and oral communication skills.Familiarity with watermelon production or ability to learn.Excellent attention to detail.Methodical and thorough working habits.Demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues, supervisors and managers at all times.Work well under pressure in order to meet multiple, and sometimes, competing deadlines.Ability to bend, pull, and lift up to 50 poundsAbility to work in field under varying conditions & ability to walk several miles per day.A valid driver's license and availability for overnight tripsVehicle Will be provided; Cell phone and laptop providedMinimum High school diploma or GEDPursuing a degree in Agriculture or a related fieldPrior lab/field experienceOur client is a leading Chemical Industry, and we are currently interviewing to fill this and other similar contract positions.
