Exam#25/50R21/06SSPosition DescriptionNatividad is seeking to fill full-time permanent and per-diem CT Technologist positions in the Diagnostic Imaging Department. This incumbent performs routine and highly specialized diagnostic and computerized tomography procedures on patients as ordered by physicians for diagnostic and treatment purposes and performs other related duties as assigned.CT Technologist candidates hired into full-time, permanent positions may be eligible to receive a sign-on bonus. *Listed salary includes eligible special assignment pay of up to 8% of the base hourly rate in accordance with applicable MOU provisions. To learn more about the eligibility requirements and the process, be sure to read the Hiring Preference for Veterans and Eligible Military Spouses section located towards the end of this job flier.Examples of DutiesThe Significant Duties Of The PositionPrepares and positions patients for a variety of diagnostic and/or therapeutic x-ray procedures; determines the correct exposure factors on the basis of height, weight, portion of the body involved, and degree of penetration required; selects appropriate hoods, cones and screens to reduce secondary radiation and fogging; sets machine controls and exposes the required number and types of films; develops and processes exposed x-ray film using automated systems; manually develops films if requiredUtilizes a variety of computerized and manual systems to set up/perform examinations and maintain information; records patient information, patient identification numbers, and the number/type of vies taken; maintains logs and work-related statistics; assists with maintaining files of x-ray films and other hard copy itemsMay operate CT and/or MRI scanning equipment; may perform routine mammograms; may provide routine assistance during fluoroscopy examinationsMay provide routine assistance with diagnostic imaging examinations involving angiography, arthrography, myelography, bone density and other special procedures; assists with and performs radiation therapy as directedPerforms all assignments in a manner consistent with defined protocols and standards; adheres to departmental policies and procedures pertaining to personnel, supplies, equipment and patient careParticipates in the implementation of effective quality control and quality assurance processesHelps clean and maintain diagnostic imaging equipment; provides input to management regarding the need for new equipment and suppliesPrepares reports, correspondence and other documents as assigned; gathers and tabulates workload data; utilizes standard office administrative tools, including computers, to facilitate communication and work efficiencyPerforms other related duties as assignedMay be assigned as a Disaster Service Worker as requiredExamples Of Experience/Education/TrainingMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSRequired License/Certification: Possession of a valid Radiologic Technologist license issued by the California Department of Public Health or the ability to obtain prior to start and registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). An example of a way these requirements might be acquired is:Experience: One (1) year of experience preferred performing diagnostic imaging examinations, including fluoroscopy and computerized tomography (CT) examinations in an acute care hospital setting. Experience must have required the performance of standard x-ray procedures.
