About This RoleWells Fargo is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join the Database Technologies Automation organization. This role is a key contributor to building and evolving a suite of internal, API-driven automation services that enable secure, scalable, and reliable database provisioning and lifecycle management across the enterprise.The Database Technologies Automation team designs and operates shared platforms, APIs, and tooling that power self-service database capabilities, integrate with bank-wide automation workflows, and improve consistency, stability, and speed of delivery across all supported database platforms. This role is ideal for engineers with a strong backend or platform-engineering background who enjoy building robust automation and internal services rather than customer-facing UI applications.In this role, you willLead the design and delivery of complex software solutions that support database automation and self-service capabilities across the enterpriseAct as a key contributor in establishing and evolving engineering standards and best practices for building scalable, reliable, and secure internal platforms and APIsDesign, develop, test, debug, and document backend services, automation tooling, and supporting frameworksAnalyze and evaluate complex technical challenges across a diverse enterprise environment, balancing scalability, reliability, security, and operational requirementsProvide hands-on technical leadership through design reviews, code reviews, and mentoring of engineers within the teamCollaborate closely with database platform subject matter experts, infrastructure teams, SREs, and other engineering partners to translate operational needs into reusable automation and servicesInfluence technical direction and implementation decisions to ensure solutions meet long-term strategic and operational goalsRequired Qualifications4+ years of Technology Infrastructure Engineering and Solutions experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education3+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education3+ years of hands-on PL/SQL development experience, including building packages, procedures, functions, and triggers, with a strong focus on debugging and performance optimization2+ years of experience working with Oracle Database, including architecture fundamentals, schema design, performance tuning, and issue resolution2+ years of experience applying object-oriented design principles, such as classes, inheritance, and code reuse2+ years of experience using Git in a collaborative development environment, including pull requests and peer code reviews1+ year of experience developing applications using Python.Desired QualificationsOracle APEX experience, building and supporting data-driven applications and administrative interfacesExperience with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes using tools such as Jenkins and Jira (or equivalent platforms)Experience writing automated unit and integration tests using tools such as pytest, with a strong focus on maintainable, high-coverage testingExperience working in Agile delivery teams using Scrum or KanbanExperience developing internal tools or services that interact with or support database platformsExperience with SQLAlchemy or similar ORM frameworksFamiliarity with infrastructure or configuration automation tools, such as AnsibleExperience with modern front-end frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue) for internal tools or administrative interfacesExperience partnering with infrastructure, SRE, or operations teams in an enterprise environmentJob ExpectationsThis position is not eligible for Visa sponsorshipWork schedule: 3 days in office / 2 days remote (subject to change based on business needs)Relocation assistance is not available for this positionLocationsSouth Brevard, Charlotte, NCChandler, AZIrving, TX.Posting End Date:17 May 2026Job posting may come down early due to volume of applicants.We Value Equal OpportunityWells Fargo is an equal opportunity employer.
