This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, leading by example, and ensuring the property is safe, functional, and well-maintained for both guests and associates.From guest rooms to critical building systems, you’ll play a key role in keeping our hotel operating at its best.Schedule & PayPay range\: $20 – $22/hour, based on experienceFull-time position (40 hours/week)Non-exempt, overtime eligible positionSchedule will flex between mid-shift and 2nd shift, including weekends and holidays as neededWhy Our Engineering Team Loves Working HereCompetitive salary with opportunities for growthMatching 401(k) and profit-sharingHealth benefits available after 30 daysFree and discounted meals & StarbucksFree Marcus Theatre movie ticketsHotel discounts at Hyatt and Marcus Hotels & Resorts propertiesFree parkingA supportive, team-oriented environment focused on People Pleasing PeopleWhat You’ll DoAs the Assistant Director of Engineering, you’ll support the Director in leading the department and ensuring the property is maintained to the highest standards.Responsibilities IncludeSupervise, direct, and support engineering team members to ensure quality work and timely completionAssist in coordinating daily maintenance operations and departmental prioritiesPerform and support preventative maintenance and repair of building systems and equipmentTroubleshoot and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and life safety systemsConduct routine inspections of guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house, and exterior spacesRespond to maintenance requests and guest concerns in a timely, professional mannerAssist with project coordination, vendor relationships, and contractor oversightMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment within the departmentIdentify and address safety hazards to ensure a safe environment for guests and associatesSupport training, coaching, and development of engineering team membersMaintain clear communication with leadership and cross-functional departmentsComplete daily reports and documentation as requiredWhat We’re Looking ForWe’re looking for someone who leads with accountability, stays hands-on, and takes pride in maintaining a high-quality environment.Ideal Candidates Will HaveExperience in hotel engineering, facilities maintenance, or a related fieldStrong working knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical)Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve maintenance issuesLeadership or supervisory experience preferredStrong communication and organizational skillsAbility to work independently and prioritize tasks effectivelyKnowledge of safety standards, OSHA compliance, and preventative maintenance programsAbility to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manualsAbility to safely use hand and power toolsTechnical certifications or a related degree are a plus, but not required.About UsAt Marcus Hotels & Resorts, we believe our associates are our greatest asset.
