Solar Estimator – ElectricalRemote – Eastern U.S. PreferredSalary: $85,000–$115,000Sapphire Recruitment is seeking a Solar Estimator – Electrical for a fully remote opportunity with a growing company in the renewable energy industry. This role will support utility-scale solar projects across the U.S. by developing accurate and competitive estimates for DC electrical balance of system work.This is a strong opportunity for someone who understands the connection between solar design, project cost, constructability, labor efficiency, and field execution. The position is remote with limited travel, approximately 10–15%, primarily to the Syracuse, NY area. East Coast candidates are strongly preferred.What You’ll DoDevelop detailed electrical estimates for solar EBOS scopes, including DC string wire, homeruns, trunk bus systems, combiners, connectors, grounding systems, and terminationsPerform quantity takeoffs from site layouts, one-lines, and construction drawingsBuild and maintain labor and material cost modelsEvaluate copper, aluminum, and other commodity pricing impactsReview DC system designs for cost savings, constructability, and installation efficiencyPartner with engineering teams on wire sizing, routing, voltage architecture, prefabrication opportunities, and field labor reduction strategiesPrice prefabricated electrical solutions and other value-engineered optionsCoordinate with procurement teams and suppliers on pricing, sourcing, and lead timesSupport bid reviews, pricing strategy discussions, and value engineering effortsClearly document scope assumptions, exclusions, risks, and project-specific considerationsWhat We’re Looking For2–5+ years of experience in solar design, EBOS estimating, electrical estimating, or electrical engineeringStrong understanding of solar PV EBOS systemsAbility to read and interpret electrical one-lines, site layouts, and construction drawingsAdvanced Excel skills and experience building cost modelsStrong understanding of labor, material, and installation cost driversAbility to connect engineering decisions to project cost, schedule, and constructabilityStrong attention to detail, commercial awareness, and pricing strategy mindsetAbility to work well with engineering, procurement, business development, and project teamsPreferred ExperienceUtility-scale solar project experienceExperience with AutoCAD, PVsyst, Helioscope, or similar toolsExperience working with EPCs, developers, or electrical contractorsExperience with prefabricated electrical systemsBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related fieldThis is an excellent opportunity to join a company working on innovative utility-scale solar projects and helping support the future of renewable energy infrastructure.Submit a resume to cnyjobs@hiresapphire.com for immediate consideration.Sapphire Recruitment is an EOE.
