You will play a critical role in ensuring sub-second query times and high availability by identifying and resolving bottlenecks within complex, high-traffic database environments.What You'll Do Conduct deep-dive query plan analysis using EXPLAIN ANALYZE to identify and resolve performance hotspots. Fine-tune PostgreSQL autovacuum parameters and maintenance tasks to prevent table bloat and manage disk I/O. Optimize database configurations and memory settings, such as shared buffers and work_mem, to align with workload requirements. Design and implement advanced indexing strategies and partitioning schemes to improve data retrieval speeds. Implement connection pooling and session management strategies to enhance overall system throughput. Collaborate with engineering teams to establish SQL best practices and ensure scalable database design.What We Are Looking For 4+ years of experience in Database Engineering, Performance Engineering, or Software Engineering. Proven expertise in PostgreSQL performance tuning, query plan analysis, and vacuum optimization. Proficiency in using EXPLAIN ANALYZE and pg_stat views to diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks. Hands-on experience with connection pooling solutions and extension-level optimization for PostgreSQL. Deep understanding of database internals, indexing strategies, and resource management.
