Structural Engineer 2

Duration: 3 Year ContractThe job description:The Planet Group is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer (Level 2) role that requires either 20+ years of experience in heavy industrial or power plant environments, or an accredited bachelor’s and master’s degree in engineering along with a Professional Engineer (PE) license.Key Responsibilities:Provide structural engineering services and field support for industrial projectsPrepare and review structural designs, calculations, and technical documentationPerform site walkdowns and field assessments at construction sites and operating facilitiesDevelop cost estimates and material takeoffsRequired Qualifications:Strong knowledge of structural steel and reinforced concrete design principlesSignificant experience with structural steel connection designProficiency in structural codes and industry standardsExperience working with heavy industrial structures and componentsProficiency with structural analysis software such as STAAD.ProWorking knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety practicesAbility to coordinate and manage multiple large-scale, multi-discipline projectsStrong problem-solving and decision-making skillsExcellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with plant personnel, engineering teams, and vendorsWork Environment:Hybrid schedule for local candidates (Monday–Thursday in office, Friday remote)Occasional site visits may be requiredFully remote candidates will also be considered Provide input on project schedules and staffing requirementsProduce and review structural steel design calculations and drawingsConduct structural inspections and prepare detailed written reports
