Press Brake Operator - 1st & 2nd Shift
Press Brake Operator Pulverman is looking for a Press Brake Operator to join our team. The Press Brake Operator bends sheet metal parts into the proper shape according to customer specifications. Once the parts are done, the Press Brake Operators checks to make sure the parts are the correct size and shape. This position is responsible for the daily setup and operation of press brake equipment in a just-in-time fabrication shop. The ideal candidate will know how to read blueprints and will have previous experience operating press brake equipment or working with CNC equipment. However, we will train the right candidate. Duties & Responsibilities Safety: Operate press brake machine with safety devices & guards Minimize pinch points to maximize safety Ensure safe workplace and follow all safety rules Wear all required personal protective equipment Report all accidents & any safety issues to Supervisor or Safety Manager Quality: Follow all SOP's and quality standards Manufacture parts per Router / work instruction requirements Inspect parts, secure 2nd verification, verify dimensions, etc., per work order Detect & report defective parts to Supervisor / Lead Report all required information & report router discrepancies Training: Work with Supervisor, Lead, mentor to learn Pulverman processes & procedures Learn setup and programming of press brake machine Participate in relevant training activities Productivity: Report productivity (setup & run) accurately Report good material & scrap accurately Work with Supervision to implement productivity improvements (daily) Work with Supervision to implement setup reduction strategies Equipment: Operate the press break machine Bend and form metal using standard and custom punches Setup, program and adjust press brake as required Report all maintenance issues and work to resolve Conduct required Operator preventative maintenance Communication: Provide feedback to Management team for ideas & improvements Express ideas & thoughts verbally in a positive & productive manner Exhibit good communication, listening & comprehension skills Workflow: Execute work plan per schedule Work Expectations: Pay close attention to detail & focus on assigned tasks Cooperate, support co-workers and be a strong team player Be reliable and adhere to attendance policy Maintain organization and housekeeping Perform other duties as requested Create Excellence Everyday Qualifications Sheet metal forming and fabrication background strongly desired Experience in a manufacturing environment strongly desired Basic knowledge of press brake and/or punch operations including setup desired Ability to use precision measurement tools Competency in basic math Able to read & interpret customer blueprints and other drawing aids High School Education or higher Exceptional communication skills Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment to meet team expectations Desire to learn new skills and improve technical knowledge Safety conscious behavior Commitment to quality accuracy of work & continuous improvement Understanding and support of Pulverman policies & procedures Excellent attendance Physical Requirements Work in a fast-paced industrial environment wearing hearing protection, eye protection & safety shoes Lift, carry, push and/or pull 1-50 lbs. frequently Squat/kneel, bend/stoop, twist/turn, grasp and reach outward frequently Stand & walk for 1-8 hours per day Work safely in a constantly changing work environment Work with tools, including small hand tools, cutters, pliers, etc. Handle & work safely around material and parts with burrs, sharp edges, etc. Work around forklift traffic Work in an environment with concrete floors Work in hot or cold temperatures depending on the time of year
