Youth Residential Staff Trainer

The residential trainer will be required to train in a classroom setting in Newton 5-7 days out of the month to help conduct trainings with New Hires. The remainder of the training will be conducted on the floor with staff at the Goddard location.
To be a successful Trainer you must become able to do the following always:
1. Train and model for Residential staff in the cottage setting the knowledge, skills and tools needed to be successful in their position by using a trauma informed approach with youth and families focused on resilience and recovery.
2. Ensure all new Professional Success Coaches have the knowledge, skills and tools needed to be successful in their position prior to the staff being counted in ratio.
3. Coordinate with Residential Leadership and Residential Training Team to conduct floor training with staff who are completing shadowing.
4. Follow Policies and Procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook and Employee Manual.
5. Achieve positive discharge outcomes for youth.

To qualify for this job, you need to have:
1. HS Diploma or GED. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
2. 1-3 years training and professional development experience in residential or social services.
3. Experience with training databases and report writing preferred.
4. Ability to write and type on a keyboard.
5. Ability to travel, driving a company or personal vehicle, including at night.
Physical Requirements: Ability to walk, including up stairs, and stand for extended periods of time. Ability to complete an emergency safety intervention as trained. Ability to be subject to outside environmental conditions occasionally and inside conditions frequently.
