Join us and make a difference in the lives of seniors every day!We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Culinary Cook to join our team at a senior living community. The Culinary Cook is responsible for preparing high-quality meals that meet the nutritional needs and preferences of our residents in a safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment.Essential DutiesPrepare palatable, attractive, nutritionally adequate meals in batches ensuring proper temperatureTaste all food before serving to residents to ensure the food is good quality and palatableCover all hot plates and place under a heat lamp for delivery; cover and place cold plates in a designated area, ensuring all are served at the proper temperaturePlan menus and prepare seasonally inspired meals, including any special dietary requirementsMonitor and record food temperatures at each mealFrequently taste and adjust food for proper appearance, flavor, smell, and consistencyPlan Chef’s Choice items to be served daily, verifying selection with Culinary Director as requestedSupervise servers to prepare food, clean, and store supplies and equipmentOversee servers as they complete resident checklists and communicate to ensure residents’ needs are metAssists in receiving and storage of deliveries from vendorsMaintains a clean food service work area as food preparation and service is in processAssist and perform dietary aide duties as neededWork Experience RequirementsA high school diploma or equivalent requiredMust have completed all ServSafe educational requirementsExcellent organizational, time-management and computer skillsStrong leadership and team management skillsEnthusiasm and a positive attitudeWillingness to perform additional duties as assignedWhat We OfferWe offer On-Demand Pay so you can access wages you’ve already earned between paydays.
