This role begins as a hands-on field position and is designed to evolve into a lead or management role as the division expands.We're looking for someone who wants more than just a job - someone who takes ownership, thinks long-term, and is motivated to help build and lead something from the ground up.Duties & Responsibilities:Diagnoses, troubleshoot, and repair electrical issues in residential and commercial settingsInstall electrical systems including panels, breakers, lighting, outlets, switches, and circuitsPerform panel upgrades, service upgrades, and remodel electrical workRun and pull wire, bend conduit (EMT/PVC), and complete clean, code-compliant installationsRead and interpret electrical drawings and specificationsTest systems for safety and functionalityCommunicate clearly with customers regarding issues and solutionsComplete service calls efficiently with high-quality workmanshipMaintain job documentation, time tracking, and materials usedEnsure all work complies with NEC and local Texas codesParticipate in on-call rotation as requiredDivision Building & Leadership:Help build and scale the DFW service division from the ground upContribute to service structure, workflows, and pricing strategiesAssist with tools, trucks, and materials setupSupport hiring, training, and mentoring of electricians and apprenticesLead by example in quality, professionalism, and customer serviceHelp establish a culture of safety, accountability, and high standardsIdentify growth opportunities (new services, customers, improvements)Develop systems and processes to support long-term scalabilityTake ownership of results-not just assigned taskRequired Skills/Qualifications:Valid Texas Journeyman or Residential Wireman LicenseStrong troubleshooting ability (non-negotiable) & ability to work independentlyResidential and/or commercial service experienceSolid NEC knowledge and safe work practicesStrong customer communication skillsSuccessful completion of a pre-employment drug and alcohol test (required for safety-sensitive roles).Completion of a criminal background check, with results assessed based on relevance to the position.Verification of a clean driving record, as defined by Control Tech's standards (e.g., no major violations, no more than 3 infractions in the past 5 years).Leadership Mindset & Preferred Skills:Demonstrates strong ownership - approaches work with an entrepreneurial mindset, treating responsibilities as if managing their own businessProactive problem solverStrong work ethic; leads by exampleWilling to train and mentor othersMotivated to grow into leadershipService-based electrical experienceTeam leadership or apprentice mentoringFamiliar with Housecall Pro, ServiceTitan, etc.Experience with generators, EV chargers, or smart home installsOSHA 10 or 30Self-Management Behaviors (expected of all employees in the Control Tech family):Self-Awareness: Recognizes impact on others, knows strengths and limitations, sense of self-worth and confidence.Self-Control: Disruptive emotions and impulses are in check, maintains consistency with core values.Maintains Motivation: Strives to learn, to improve and to be successful.Listening and Speaking Respectfully: Listens generously - clarifies meaning and intent, speaks straight and respectfully.Collaborator: Works effectively on teams with a wide variety of people, resolves conflict directly and productively, contributes to the success of othersLeadership Behaviors (expected of Leaders at all levels in Control Tech):Create Clear Direction: Creates a clear path forward with a drive to win and focus on results, champion's the Mission, Vision and Brand of Control Tech.
