Job SummaryMangan Engineering & Automation Specialist is currently seeking a full-time Structural Engineer to join our team, providing Structural Engineering services for industrial projects (Oil & Gas, Factories, Power Plants, Substations, etc.).Structural engineers are expected to be detail-oriented, creative, and possess problem-solving skills.This position supports engineering and design efforts by providing studies, drawings, calculations, specifications, and evaluations, in accordance with applicable procedures, codes, standards, and contract requirements. Work with other Structural engineers, designers, and technical disciplines in a team environment.Responsibilities and DutiesThe following are considered as leading roles and responsibilities of Structural Engineer II/III for Civil/Structural/Architectural (CSA) Projects:Provide Conceptual Design of Structural SupportsPrepare Structural Calculations and AnalysisStructural Loading Calculation per all applicable Codes and Regulations (ASCE 7, IBC, etc.)Static AnalysisDynamic AnalysisSteel Structure and Connection DesignFoundation and Retaining Wall DesignConcrete DesignOverhead Transmission Line Design (ASCE 10, 48, 74) (preferred)Substation Structure Design (ASCE 113, IEEE 693, 605) (preferred)Provide Structural Design Sketches for Designer/Drafter with AutoCADPerform with walkdowns and site visit of existing facilities.Review existing conditions and as-builts drawings and collect and record data and documentationReview customer & vendor information from subcontractors and integrate it into the design solution.Perform Structural ObservationExecute the schedule requirements while maintaining a high degree of quality in work product.Coordinate closely with other technical disciplines in planning and executing work as an integrated team.Travel up to 25% of the time to customer and project locations to coordinate designs with team and collect data and informationProvide structural engineering support for overhead transmission line structures, including structure attachments, load path development, and foundation reactions. (preferred)Develop and check design criteria and load combinations for transmission structures consistent with ASCE 113 and applicable utility standards. (preferred)Coordinate with line design teams to interpret loading inputs/outputs (wind/ice, ruling spans, angles, broken wire, construction loads) and translate them into structure and foundation design requirements. (preferred)Review vendor drawings/submittals for poles, lattice towers, crossarms, and line hardware for compliance with project requirements. (preferred)Qualifications and SkillsExperience in Structural Steel and Concrete DesignExperience Dynamic Analysis (Response Spectrum, Time History, and Transient)Good written and verbal communication skills are essentialPrevious related internship experience is a plus but not necessaryMust have a working knowledge and practical experience in the following applications:RISA 3D, connection and foundationRAM ConnectionMathCADPLS-CADD/PLS-Pole/PLS-Tower (preferred)ExcelAutoCADMicrosoft OfficeOther Skills and Abilities:Ability to break down technical concepts and communicate fundamentals to staffAbility to manage priorities with minimal guidanceRequire Education and License RegistrationsBachelor’s degree in civil/Structural engineering, plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant work experiencePE license is required (preferably CA) SE license is preferred. Physical DemandsMust be able to perform the site visit to prepare sketches and as-built drawings. Must be able to climb the ladder and stair platforms. Must be able to lift or exert up to 10 pounds. Requires good depth perception and the ability to judge distances and spatial relationships.
