DescriptionShift: Monday - Friday, 5am - 1:45pmPosition Summary:Repairs, refurbishes, paints and decals Company trucks, trailer, cars, forklifts as needed.Job Duties and Responsibilities:Trouble shoots, repairs, replaces or ensures the repair of paint/body damageDiagnoses paint/body damage, determines supplies needed and orders through the parts roomPaints or ensures the painting of all Company forkliftsRepairs, refurbishes, or ensures the repair/refurbishment (by welding) of aluminum/steel floors/bumpers, mud flap brackets, brazings and other parts on trucks, trailer, forklifts, tow motors, golf cart trailers as neededIn preparation for painting: Performs or ensures the performance of blocking, sanding and feathering. Ensures all cracks are welded, vehicle is cleaned with air hose, tape is used as needed, and vehicle is wiped downPrepares or ensures the preparation of vehicles for body shopRepairs or ensures the repair of all items not meeting DOT requirements; informs supervisor if not immediately repairableAssists Lead Paint & Body Technician in the preparation of preplanned 40-hour schedules for Paint/Body Repair TechniciansStrictly enforces and adheres to strict safe working practices, Company policies, rules, regulations, corrects obvious hazards immediately or reports to supervisor if not immediately correctableOther duties as assignedMinimum Qualifications:High school diploma or GED equivalentAutomotive/Mechanical Trade or Vocational certification preferred3+ years of paint and body repair experienceDemonstrated mechanical and technical aptitude is a plusMust have a valid Texas Driver's License and driving record within MVR policy guidelinesMust supply automotive hand tools (not including heavy duty or diagnostic tools)Experience with HVLP paint proceduresSome fabrication and welding ability preferredPhysical Requirement:Talk, hear, and see (including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus)Frequent climbing, pushing, pulling and maneuvering dolly, hand truck, bay roll up doors, straps, curb ramps, truck doors, boxes, cases, kegs, truck gear shiftAbility to enter and exit the driver's compartment of the truck and/or behind cab using normally available footholds and handholdsAbility to move and position objects weighing up to 50 poundsAbility to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel and crawl to inspect and or wash vehiclesAbility to communicate verbally and in writingAbility to hear voice commands in areas with a high level of background noiseAbility to demonstrate or learn to safely handle large trucks in a critically safe and precise manner within very constrained and compactWorking Conditions:All weather conditions (indoor & outdoor) including high temperatures, cool/cold temperatures, wind, ice, humidity, rain, fog, hail, sleet and snowDaylight, twilight, evening and dark lighting conditionsNoise, vibration, dust, dirt, airborne particles, fumesWork hours will vary daily due to business needsAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.
