COMMERCIAL DIESEL TRUCK AND TRAILER REPAIR TECH

Overview We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Commercial Diesel Truck and Trailer Repair Technician to join our team. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and industrial equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive and diesel engine repair, with experience working on commercial vehicles, farm machinery, and heavy equipment. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, air brake systems, suspension, hydraulics, HVAC systems, and electrical components using schematics and hand tools. Conduct repairs and maintenance on trucks, trailers, farm machinery, industrial equipment, excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other heavy machinery. Replace or repair shocks & struts, tires, wheel alignments, welding components, and perform welding repairs as needed. Fabricate parts or components using power tools and welding equipment to meet specific repair requirements. Conduct vehicle inspections to identify issues related to brakes, alignment, hydraulics, suspension systems, HVAC systems, and more. Use automotive diagnostics tools to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical problems efficiently. Maintain detailed service records for all repairs performed. Ensure all work complies with safety standards and manufacturer specifications. Assist with assembly or disassembly of equipment during repairs or upgrades. Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs and maintenance procedures clearly to clients. Requirements Proven experience as a mechanic or service technician specializing in diesel engines and heavy-duty vehicles; dealership experience is a plus. Strong knowledge of automotive repair including transmissions, air brakes, hydraulics, suspension systems, HVAC systems, welding, soldering, and electrical troubleshooting. Experience working with schematics for complex machinery and vehicle systems. Ability to operate heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors-trailers, and other industrial machinery safely and efficiently. Skilled in fabrication techniques using power tools and welding equipment. Mechanical knowledge combined with hands-on experience in vehicle maintenance and repair. Familiarity with farm machinery and industrial equipment is advantageous. Ability to lift heavy objects safely (heavy lifting) and perform physically demanding tasks regularly. Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in diagnostics and repairs. Strong customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients about repair needs. Valid driver’s license required; relevant certifications or ASE certifications preferred.
