Fusion/ODF is a Windows-based low-level device platform software component installed on millions of HP devices to enable connectivity, telemetry, and more modern AI or subscription use cases.The platform is modular and event-based while modernizing the HP App Enabling Services driver. The platform is designed with a strong reusability and platform mindset, where most code features are implemented as shared services/libraries for Windows both x64 and arm64, and most business features are developed as modules, all for reusability across the HP portfolio Further, it is used as an enabler for the new AI PCs portfolio for performing local inference and more.This role operates within HP's evolving platform, and service-oriented operating model, ensuring that architectural direction, AI platform, and cloud solutions align with shared platforms, service ownership models, and cross-organizational priorities. We are looking for a Senior Software Engineering to work on the HP On Device framework that enables future of work.Job SummaryThis role is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining Windows-based software applications that cater to specific user needs or business requirements. The role works collaboratively with cross-functional teams to create functional, user-friendly, and reliable software solutions. The role conducts testing, debugging, and troubleshooting to ensure that software applications are free of defects and meet high-quality standards.ResponsibilitiesDesigns enhancements, updates, and programming changes for portions and subsystems of end-user software applications running on local, networked, and Internet- based platforms.Analyzes design and determines coding, programming, and integration activities required based on general objectives and knowledge of overall architecture of product or solution.Investigates and resolves technical issues reported by users or identified during testing and usage.Writes and executes complete testing plans, protocols, and documentation for assigned portion of application.Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and quality assurance teams, to implement new features and functionalities.Allocates resources to complete programming projects and designing detailed plans to ensure applications are functioning properly.Leads a project team of other software applications engineers and internal and outsourced development partners to develop reliable, cost effective and high-quality solutions for assigned applications portion or subsystem.Collaborates and communicates with management, internal, and outsourced development partners regarding software applications design status, project progress, and issue resolution.Represents the software applications engineering team for all phases of larger and more-complex development projects.Keeps up with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in software development to stay current and improve skills.Education & Experience RecommendedFour-year or Graduate Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.Typically has 4-7 years of work experience, preferably in applications engineering, programming, or a related field or an advanced degree with 3-5 years of work experience.Preferred CertificationsProgramming Language/s Certification (C, C++, or similar)Knowledge & SkillsC++17 and aboveWindows Application Programming Interface (Win32 API)MultithreadingIPC, RPC preferredGitUnit Test, MSTest preferredAgile MethodologyAutomationCI/CD, ADO preferredMicrosoft AzureScalabilityObject Oriented Analysis & DesignSoftware Development LifecycleStrong Troubleshooting skillsKnowledge & Skills Agile Methodology Amazon Web Services Application Programming Interface (API) Automation C++ (Programming Language) Computer Science DevOps Docker (Software) Full Stack Development Java (Programming Language) JavaScript (Programming Language) Kubernetes Microservices Microsoft Azure Python (Programming Language) React.js Scalability Software Development Software Engineering SQL (Programming Language)The pay range for this role is $130,700 to $205,200 USD annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to United States of America candidates only).
