RN Emergency Room | Sitka, Alaska

This role calls for a skilled registered nurse specialized in emergency care, providing comprehensive nursing services to patients across all age groups. The ideal candidate will demonstrate independent clinical judgment, effective prioritization in critical situations, and the capacity to coordinate care collaboratively with healthcare teams.Key Responsibilities:Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care aligned with provider orders and established standards for patients with complex multisystem conditions.Perform thorough assessments, document accurate patient data, and develop patient-specific care plans.Administer medications and therapeutics appropriate for varying ages.Lead and supervise nursing assistants and techs, ensuring quality and delegation.Provide patient and family education to promote understanding, coping, and post-discharge care.Maintain confidentiality and comply with all relevant policies and procedures.Participate in staff development including mandatory certifications like ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and ongoing competency training.Communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and interdisciplinary teams.Qualifications & Desired Experience:Current unrestricted Registered Nurse license in Alaska or another U.S. state; Alaska license application required before start.BLS required at hire; ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications to be completed within six months.Minimum one year of clinical nursing experience; emergency department experience preferred.Proficiency with emergency procedures and medical equipment.Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.Ability to respond calmly and efficiently in emergency situations.Location Overview: Situated in scenic Sitka, Alaska, this position offers a unique opportunity to work in a welcoming coastal community surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty, including waterfront views and forested landscapes.
