Job DescriptionPer Diem, Days/Occasional Weekends and HolidaysJob Description:-Assesses individuals physical, communication and cognitive skills to develop and implement a treatment plan.-Serves as a member of a treatment team; attend care plan meetings, communicates occupational therapy treatment plans to family members.-Administers occupational therapy programs and provide treatment to individuals with more complicated occupational therapy needs.-Selects, trains, and monitors adaptive techniques and equipment; regularly inspects and ensures maintenance of equipment.-Apply interventions to maximize safety and performance in activities of daily living (ADL) and instrumental ADL.-Teach individuals new ways of approaching tasks and educate on how to break down activities into achievable components.-Assist individuals' exercise for pain relief.-Observe and review individuals' progress and adapt treatment accordingly.-Supervises and trains Occupational Therapy Assistants.-Evaluates and initiates skilled Occupational Therapy treatments, in accordance with provider orders.-Maintains communication with providers.-Performs and completes paperwork and billing in a timely manner.-Participates with interdisciplinary communication and collaboration.-Updates Resident's care plan when changes are noted.-Participates with discharge planning and home assessments.-Participates with identifying and ordering equipment needed.-Supervises Physical Therapy Assistants, reviews, and cosigns paperwork.-Professional interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and families.-Attends to responsibilities of the Director of Rehab in their absence.
