Forklift Operator (M-F 6:45am to 3:30pm) Seed Treater

Warehouse Forklift OperatorPay Rate: Min: $14.50 to Max: $20.50 Summary: Operate powered industrial trucks to load and unload materials and move them to and from storage areas into railroad cars or trucks or storage facilities. Remove pallets of product from production line will also place pallets into predetermined sections of the warehouse or load onto trailers. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerform all job duties with health, safety, and food safety as the number one priority. Show familiarity with forklift controls and maneuverability. Inspects forklift daily by completing daily forklift inspection. Inspects trailers before loading. Ensures pallet quantity and correct product is loaded and documents on bills of lading before placing pallets to be shipped into trailers. Receives raw materials from inbound trucks as required and ensures all documentation is accurate and signs for receipt of goods. Ensure production line is stocked with raw materials. Follows all Good Manufacturing Practices and ensures a clean and organized work area. Safety is the main responsibility of the forklift operator. Assists with any other duties as assigned by production supervisor. Operate the forklift effectively, efficiently, and safely. Positions forks, lifting platform, or other lifting device under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials or hooks tow trucks to trailer hitch, and transports load to designated area. Unloads and stacks material by raising and lowering lifting device. Inventories materials on the work floor, and supply workers with materials as needed. Weighs materials or products and records weight on tags, labels, or production schedules. Loads or unloads materials onto or off pallets, skids, or lifting device. Lubricates truck, recharges batteries, fills fuel tank, or replaces liquefied gas tank. Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and a minimum of one year's experience operating equipment in a manufacturing environment. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to walk and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Work Environment: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The shelling facility is not a climate-controlled environment. This position is located in a peanut processing facility where constant exposure to peanut dust and particles is unavoidable. Additionally, this role requires working at elevated heights, including climbing ladders and platforms up to 60 feet.
