Thermopac Production & Sanitation Manager

DescriptionThis position manages all activities associated with the production and sanitation department for the facility. She or he is responsible for people and team development, motivating the team and ensuring quality performance.Duties and Responsibilities:Implements and modifies procedures to ensure production of quality productsEstimating and reviewing costs and monitoring and documenting process controls.Supervising and motivating teams of workers.Promotes safety in the work area by understanding and complying with safety procedures and reporting all accidents in a timely manner.Directs employees with respect and courtesy.Notifies Maintenance of equipment problems and breakdowns.Reviews QA and production records.Reviews quarterly Food Safety audits and develops and implements corrective action.Meets regularly with direct reports to set goals and monitor progress toward goals.Manages all aspects of regulatory compliance including knowledge of standards, documents, audits, etc.Ensure that all personnel, equipment, materials, and areas of operation conform to all sanitation regulations. Also ensures all employees who engage in sanitation activities have been fully trained on and adhere to chemical safety and other safety requirements, GMPs and company policiesCreate, update, and enforce Sanitation SOP's, enforce GMP's and ensure all federal and state regulations are met. Verify compliance by the sanitation crew, review and maintain proper documentation.Requirements5+ years Management experience in a food production/manufacturing environment including; industrial sanitation supervisory experience with solid knowledge of sanitary food manufacturing practices, SQF, HACCP, FDA/USDA, and all related state and federal regulationsDemonstrated ability to lead and manage both sanitation and production teams to achieve superior resultsStrong communication and interpersonal skills with excellent time management skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritizeMust be willing and able to work off-shift, weekends and holidays if neededSuccessful experience in leading and developing teams in a dynamic, fast paced environment.Proven ability to work professionally with team members at all levels, both inside and outside the organization.Results driven with proven decision-making skills and high accountability SStrong time management skills with the ability to prioritize, multitask, anticipate changing project needs, and meet deadlinesPhysical requirements:While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to sit, walk and stand; Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 25 pounds. Position will frequent the production floor, so operating in standard seasonal warehouse and food processing plant temperature conditions will be required.
