Job DescriptionYour ImpactThe Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that multiple equipment types within the Regional Distribution Center (RDC) are fully operational. This individual supervises a high performing team that analyzes, troubleshoots, and repairs broken equipment, as well as performs preventive maintenance tasks. The Maintenance Supervisor works with the Maintenance Manager and contractors to coordinate new construction and facilitate repair work, all while ensuring that it is completed in compliance with applicable regulations.What You Will DoAchieves or exceeds key performance indicators, safety goals, and budget targetsFixes equipment breakdowns to minimize impact to distribution center performancePrioritizes work in accordance with business priorities: Sorter Preventative Maintenance (PM) requests and repairs, yard truck Preventative Maintenance (PMs) and repairs, and projects with highest prioritiesAssists associates with HR related issues including questions/concerns with attendance, pay, benefits, job changes, voluntary terminations, I-9 verification, unemployment claims, and workplace accommodationsCommunicates clear expectations for associates and provides timely and constructive feedbackMonitors and manages associate performance, ensuring that associates are executing assigned tasks accurately and as scheduledMentors and builds relationships with associates, recording planned encounters when needed, and completing annual reviewsHolds associates in department accountable to expected behaviors and performance levelsMonitors staffing needs for shift and adjusts work to be accomplished on the shift according to available resources and skill sets; assigns mechanics to jobs and supervises their workImplements projects by due dateProvides cross-training for mechanics to maintain skill level of team in multiple crafts, such as, electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, automotive, welding, etc.Performs work in a safe mannerCompletes 100% of Preventative Maintenance (PMs) as scheduled by end of shiftCommunicates effectively with associates regarding business objectives or current issuesProvides associates with meaningful developmental opportunities and prepares them for upward promotion if interestedDiscusses and resolves issues with and between associatesParticipates in the hiring process by initiating job requisitions when appropriate and interviewing prospective candidatesEnsures associates receive proper trainingAdditional ResponsibilitiesTeaches leadership by example; builds team spirit and engagementMentors Mechanics; prepares senior level Mechanics for Supervisor roleTrains team to use 7I systemCompletes and enters maintenance documentation in 7I systemConducts shift briefing, including safety topicsPrepares shift turn over documentationMinimum QualificationsBachelor's degree Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field or equivalent years of experience in lieu of education requirement, if applicableExperience with repairing/maintaining one or more of the following types of systems or equipment: conveyors, electro-pneumatic PLC controlled systems with photo eye detectors, electrical systems (440V or less), hydraulic and pneumatic systems, forklifts/reach trucks/floor sweepers/yard trucks, automatic systems, HVAC, basic plumbing systems, fabrication/weldingExperience reading and interpreting blueprints, electrical schematics, and various technical drawingsExperience using troubleshooting processes to resolve problemsIf required by applicable law, certifications for performing supervisory electrical work in an industrial facilityPreferred Skills/EducationExperience using power equipment (e.g., forklift, reach truck, yard truck)Experience troubleshooting and performing simple fixes to PLC programmingLeadership experience with direct report responsibilityExperience mentoring and coaching othersExperience monitoring the work of others to ensure qualityExperience managing budgets or contributing to budget planningExperience working with and communicating to leadership all levels of the organizationAbout Lowe'sLowe's Companies, Inc.
