Ordnance Equipment Mechanic Leader with Security Clearance
Duties * Pass on to work instructions received from supervisor and ensures work orders and all materials are available. * Plan work schedules for subordinate employees. * Perform administrative duties as needed to include time and attendance and suggestions for performance evaluations and entering data in databases. * Familiar with all aspects of missile system assembles and components. * Provide information to the supervisor on status and progress of work, delays and dates of completion. * Check for compliance with instructions issued either by work order or supervision. * Check modification status, operation, and calibration of equipment. Requirements Conditions of Employment * Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. A Secret security clearance is required for this position. * Pre-employment and annual physical examinations are required. * Pre-employment and random drug testing is required. * Heavy lifting up to 50 lbs. may be required. * CONUS and OCONUS travel may be required 5% of the time as directed by management. * Must meet ammunition certification requirements IAW AMC-R 350-4 within one year of appointment. * This position is covered by the 1996 Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to Lead or Supervise. - Ability to perform processes from disassembly thru final test of the more complex missile equipment and multi-component devices that are composed of a number of interrelated electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and assemblies and components. .Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. * Ability To Lead or Supervise PHYSICAL EFFORT: Job requires frequent standing, bending, and working in tiring positions, with occasional sitting down at workbenches. Incumbent is required to lift, pull, or push a variety of items weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally some above that weight. WORKING CONDITIONS: May work in an environmentally controlled area or in areas that are well lighted, heated and ventilated. Subject to high frequency noise, cuts, bruises, and burns or shocks caused by high voltage energy. Some outside work may also be involved. Incumbent will be exposed to hazardous explosives and chemicals and is required to wear protective clothing (e.g. conductive shoes, coveralls, goggles, aprons, gloves, safety glasses, etc.) Education Some Federal positions allow the substitution of education for experience.
