RN - Staff ICU

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply.This RN Staff - ICU position is located in Nursing Service at the White River Junction Healthcare System, located at the WRJ location. This position is full-time at 40 hours per week.Included but are not limited to:Responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process when providing and/or supervising direct patient care. Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care based on age specific components.Administers medications and procedures per established policies and guidelinesIndependently assesses patient's condition, and recognizes normal/abnormal parameters for all medical and surgical patients in the ICU.Manages and is responsible for monitoring hemodynamics, interpreting and treatment of dysrhythmias using ACLS practice guidelines, manage medical emergencies, administering complex medicationAssumes responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care.Administers medications and procedures per established policies and guidelines.Documents and charts in the patient's health records any observations, assessments, nursing interventions, therapeutic measures administered, and referrals to ancillary staff for follow-up care per established policies, guidelines and physician orders. .Influences care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team.Demonstrates leadership in developing evidence based projects to drive improvement in practice, improving patient centered care, and delivering customer focus careOversees the care provided by nursing assistance, health technicians, and student nursesRequires flexibility in schedule and assignments, which includes cross training to help support other nursing units.Not all duties may be listed, so other duties may be assigned.Work Schedule: 12 hour shifts day/night rotation, weekends, holidays, after orientationCompressed/Flexible: AvailableTelework: Not AvailableVirtual: This is not a virtual position.Relocation/Recruitment Incentives: Not AuthorizedEDRP Authorized: Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply for incentive.
