Job Title: RTV Molder and Mold MakerDepartment: RTV Molding / Manufacturing / Prototyping Location: TECH, INC. in Perkins, OK Contact: 405-547-8324, tech@techok.comEmployment Type: Full-Time Job Summary:The RTV Molder and Mold Maker is responsible for creating rubber molds and casting parts using Room Temperature Vulcanization (RTV) techniques. This position involves the entire process—from preparing masters and designing molds, to mixing and pouring RTV silicone/urethane, to demolding and post-processing. Attention to detail, manual dexterity, and a strong understanding of mold-making principles are essential. Key Responsibilities:Mold Making:Fabricate high-quality rubber molds using RTV materials.Design and construct mold boxes and gating systems for optimal material flow and venting.Prepare master patterns (3D printed, machined, or hand-crafted) for mold duplication.RTV Casting:Accurately measure, mix, and degas silicone and polyurethane materials.Pour and cure RTV molds under ambient or controlled conditions.Cast parts using two-part polyurethane resins, silicones, or other castable materials.Maintenance & Quality:Inspect molds and castings for defects, ensuring dimensional accuracy and surface finish.Document mold usage, curing times, and casting records.Maintain a clean and organized workstation.Collaboration:Work closely with design engineers and project managers to understand product requirements.Recommend mold design improvements to enhance quality or reduce cycle time.Inspect/evaluate molded parts to ensure the quality meets expectations. Qualifications:Required:High school diploma or equivalent.2+ years of hands-on experience in RTV mold making and casting.Strong understanding of silicone and urethane casting materials.Familiarity with vacuum degassing and pressure casting techniques.Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.Preferred:Experience with 3D printing or CNC-machined masters.Knowledge of parting lines, draft angles, and shrinkage considerations in mold design.Experience in a prototyping or small-batch manufacturing environment. Physical Requirements:Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.Standing for extended periods.Working with chemicals, resins, and tools while following proper safety procedures. Work Environment:Workshop or lab environment with exposure to fumes, dust, and moderate noise.Use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) such as gloves, goggles, and aprons as needed.
