Facilities Maintenance Technician

Founded in 2011, Fresh Catch Inc. is in the seafood processing/ manufacturing and distribution business. Due to the company's steady growth, a Maintenance Technician position has become available to join a fast-paced team and be part of the dynamic team behind its success. Job Role Perform Routine Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections of machinery and equipment (Current Machinery as below as at now) Responsible for the smooth function of the Baader Fillet Machine: Ensure error-free operation daily by monitoring the machine on the production floor, inspecting it during breaks, cleaning trimmings, removing and sharpening blades post-production, setting the machine to cleaning mode for the sanitization process, and reporting any visible issues after inspection post-production. Ensure the smooth function of the Pin Bone Rollers: Adjust as required during the shift, check for issues during breaks and rectify them, and report any visible issues detected in post-production. Responsible for the effective functioning of the Portion Machine: Examine and report visible issues after production. Ensure the Maja Skinning Machine operates error-free during production: replace skinning blades after each production run, inspect post-production, and report anyvisible issues. Responsible for the effectiveness of the Borlund Metal Detector: Conduct random tests with test rods throughout the day to ensure proper operation, inspect post-production, and report any issues. Troubleshooting and Repair: Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and structural problems and carry out repairs promptly. Read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and engineering sketches for repairs. Preventive Maintenance: Develop and execute preventive maintenance plans to extend equipment life and reduce breakdowns. Monitor system performance and identify potential areas for improvement. Ensure Compliance with Safety Standards: Follow safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, and ensure all repairs and maintenance work adheres to safety standards. Perform equipment and tool safety inspections. Responsible for ensuring Machine Availability: Ensure all machinery is available and maintain a 99.5% uptime goal by being present on the production floor. Ensure all Cleaning is completed, and Connections are effective: Set all machines to cleaning mode post-production, and ensure all connections (electricity, water, compressed air) are in good working order. The successful candidate will ideally have Mechanical trade and/or Engineering qualifications or similar qualifications together with experience in a Seafood Processing or similar manufacturing environment. Requirements: 2 years of professional experience in facilities maintenance including electrical, and plumbing. Experience working in a seafood processing facility and with seafood processing equipment is a HUGE plus! Ability to follow directions accurately Attention to detail and organization skills Strong verbal and written communication skills Good technical and mechanical skills Ability to work with minimal supervision Knowledgeable in safety practices. Clean DMV record. Experience in food processing facilities a plus Possession of a valid California driver’s license and reliable transportation with proof of insurance. Physical Demands: Ability to push/lift 50 pounds Ability to climb ladders Ability to work in extreme temperatures Working around lubricants, solvents, batteries, cleaning fluids, and paints.
