The Lead Teacher will create a prepared Montessori environment that supports the social, emotional, and academic development of children ages 3–6 while meeting Maryland child care licensing standards.ResponsibilitiesImplement an authentic Montessori curriculum for children ages 3–6Prepare and maintain a structured, engaging Montessori classroom environmentObserve, document, and assess each child's developmental progressDevelop individualized learning plans based on observation and assessmentGuide children's behavior using positive guidance and Montessori principlesSupervise and mentor assistant teachers and classroom support staffMaintain consistent communication with families regarding student progressEnsure health, safety, and supervision standards are met at all timesComplete lesson plans, progress reports, and required classroom documentationParticipate in staff meetings, professional development, and program improvement initiativesSupport smooth transitions for children entering and exiting the Primary programQualificationsAssociate's Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or related fieldMeets Maryland Lead Teacher qualification requirementsMontessori Certification (AMI, AMS, or equivalent) preferredMinimum 1–2 years of classroom experience with children ages 3–6 preferredCurrent CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtainMust pass background check and health clearance as required by Maryland licensing
