Wound Care Medical DirectorPosition SummaryThe Wound Care Medical Director provides clinical leadership and oversight for wound care services, ensuring high-quality, evidence-based patient care and regulatory compliance. This role combines direct patient care with programmatic leadership, quality improvement, and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams to optimize wound healing outcomes.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide medical direction and clinical oversight for wound care servicesDeliver direct patient care for acute and chronic wounds, including complex and non-healing woundsEstablish and oversee evidence-based wound care protocols and treatment pathwaysSupervise and collaborate with wound care clinicians, advanced practice providers, nursing staff, and ancillary servicesReview clinical outcomes, documentation quality, and adherence to standards of careParticipate in quality improvement, performance measurement, and patient safety initiativesSupport compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and documentation requirementsCollaborate with hospital leadership, surgeons, podiatry, infectious disease, and primary care providersProvide education and mentorship to wound care team membersParticipate in program development, growth initiatives, and service line planningMaintain accurate, timely, and compliant medical documentationPractice SettingHospital-based wound care center, outpatient clinic, or integrated wound care programMay include inpatient consultative servicesSchedule includes clinical and administrative responsibilitiesPatient PopulationAdult patients with acute, chronic, and complex woundsConditions may include diabetic foot ulcers, venous stasis ulcers, pressure injuries, surgical wounds, and ischemic woundsQualificationsMD or DO from an accredited medical schoolCompletion of an accredited residency program (e.g., Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Surgery, or related specialty)Board certified or board eligible in primary specialtyExperience or training in wound care management requiredEligible for unrestricted medical licensure in the practicing stateDEA registration or eligibilitySkills & CompetenciesExpertise in advanced wound care and healing principlesStrong clinical leadership and program management skillsKnowledge of regulatory and accreditation standards related to wound careExcellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration abilitiesCommitment to evidence-based, patient-centered careWork EnvironmentWound care center and/or hospital clinical settingMultidisciplinary, team-based care modelEmphasis on quality outcomes, safety, and program excellence #J-18808-Ljbffr
