Principal Digital Brand Designer

As a Principal Digital Brand Designer I at CMT, you will build a standout, recognizable, and consistent visual brand — and scale it across every surface where CMT shows up. You’ll join a growing creative team and play a central role in shaping how we look and feel across digital, motion, web, and beyond. This role is for a designer who loves the craft of brand building and knows how to leverage modern digital tools and AI to move faster, push further, and make our brand impossible to ignore. You’ll collaborate closely with product, marketing, sales, and recruiting to make sure everything from a trade show booth to a LinkedIn ad to a motion graphic on the homepage looks unmistakably like CMT.ResponsibilitiesBuild a standout, recognizable, and consistent visual brand that sets CMT apart in mobility, tech, and AISupport branding, revenue, and hiring efforts with standout design across campaigns, sales enablement, recruiting content, and executive communicationsMaintain CMT’s brand guidelines to give every team the tools to create on-brand workWebsite media kit, logo system, color, typography, iconography, photography direction, motion principlesEnsure brand standards everywhere the CMT brand lives — website, social, paid media, events, sales decks, product UI touchpoints, recruiting materials, OOH Grow a central brand library and drive adoption across Marketing, Sales, Product, and People Operations Build design tools and systems that enable the entire organization to create content quickly and on-brand — templates, automations, and workflows that scale beyond the design team Build and maintain an asset library of on-brand video, photography, icons, and templates for teams to pull from and build on Bring digital design expertise to the role — video, motion, web graphics, and interactive formats — and move the brand forward digitally rather than keeping it locked to print Leverage digital tools and AI to enhance creative output, accelerate production, and expand what a small team can deliver Design digital campaigns and assets: paid social, display, landing pages, animated web content, email, motion graphics for events and product launches Partner with Product, Marketing, Sales, Recruiting, and Events to translate business priorities into creative work that performs Act as a mentor to other designers and creative contributors on the growing creative team, raising the bar on craft Track design and brand trends — especially in tech, mobility, and AI — and find new opportunities for CMT’s brand leadership Consult with other departments to understand their needs and design solutions that work for their audiences Complete any additional tasks that may ariseQualificationsBachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience and/or certification in graphic design, digital design, creative arts, or a related field7+ years of relevant working experience in design, with a strong focus on brand building and digital craftStrong portfolio of brand and digital work — campaigns, motion, web, video, and brand systemsStrong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and motion/video tools (After Effects, Premiere, Figma, or similar)Familiarity with WordPress, HubSpot, and Canva — comfortable designing and publishing within the platforms marketing teams actually use day-to-dayExperience building and launching brand guidelines, brand systems, and media kits — and driving adoption across teamsDigital-first instincts: comfort with motion, web graphics, interactive formats, and design systemsDeep fluency with Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, and other frontier AI systems — you use them daily to scale your work, automate production, and build tools and products for the organizations you supportHands-on experience with AI photography and video generation (e.g., Midjourney, Runway, Sora, Veo, Flux, or similar), and a point of view on how to use these tools without losing craftAbility to distill complex ideas into simple, effective designsExcellent typography, composition, and visual storytelling skillsHigh level of attention to detail with a results-driven attitudeDemonstrated ability in time management and multitasking; the ability to meet tight deadlinesAbility to work independently with minimal supervision and exercise wide latitude for independent judgmentStrong verbal and written communication skillsTeam player with the desire to mentor and raise the bar on craftAbility and desire to be an evangelist for CMT’s mission and brandPlease provide a link to your portfolioCompensation And BenefitsFair and competitive salary based on skills and experience, and annual performance bonusEquity may be awarded in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs)Medical, Dental, Vision and Life Insurance, matching 401k, short-term & long-term disability and parental leaveUnlimited Paid Time Off including vacation, sick days & public holidaysFlexible scheduling and work from home policy depending on role and responsibilitiesBase Salary RangeThe base salary range for this position is: $113,300 to $141,500.
