Aircraft TechnicianThe Aircraft Technician provides hands-on technical and operational support to production cells by performing disassembly, cleaning, painting, testing, and safety wiring of aviation components. This role combines strong mechanical aptitude with troubleshooting skills to ensure components meet quality, safety, and performance standards in a maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) environment.ResponsibilitiesProvide technical and operational support to production cells to ensure efficient and accurate completion of maintenance tasks.Disassemble aviation components in accordance with established procedures and technical documentation.Clean aviation components thoroughly to prepare them for inspection, testing, painting, or reassembly.Perform painting of components following specifications and quality standards.Conduct testing of aviation components using appropriate measuring gauges and test equipment to verify functionality and compliance.Perform safety wiring of components to ensure secure installation and adherence to aviation safety standards.Use blueprint reading skills to interpret technical drawings and follow assembly and repair instructions accurately.Apply mechanical aptitude to assemble and reassemble mechanical components and systems correctly and efficiently.Troubleshoot electrical issues at the component level using test equipment and diagnostic methods.Troubleshoot mechanical issues at the component level to identify root causes and implement effective repairs.Utilize electronic business systems, including Microsoft Office and internal management systems such as Quantum or similar tools, to document work, track components, and support production activities.Follow all shop procedures, safety guidelines, and quality standards within an MRO repair station environment.Collaborate with team members on first shift to support continuous workflow and meet production schedules.Maintain a clean, organized work area and properly handle tools, equipment, and components.Demonstrate reliability and readiness to take on additional responsibilities, including the potential to serve as a section lead.Essential SkillsMinimum of 2 years of experience working with mechanical components.Minimum of 2 years of assembly experience.Strong mechanical aptitude for working with complex mechanical systems and components.Experience with electrical troubleshooting at the component level.Experience with mechanical troubleshooting at the component level.Proficient blueprint reading skills to interpret technical drawings and instructions.Strong troubleshooting knowledge down to component level using measuring gauges and test equipment.Ability to use measuring gauges and test equipment accurately and safely.Knowledge of electronic business systems, including Microsoft Office.Familiarity with Quantum or other internal business management systems, or the ability to learn similar tools.Ability to perform disassembly, cleaning, painting, testing, and safety wiring of aviation components.Capability to work effectively in a production cell environment within an MRO repair station.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in assembly or automotive mechanics environments.Prior exposure to aviation components or MRO repair station operations.Comfort working with both mechanical and electrical systems.Ability to adapt to structured processes and documentation requirements within electronic business systems.Interest in taking on leadership responsibilities, including the opportunity to become a section lead.Why Work Here?You will work exclusively on a first-shift schedule in a climate-controlled environment, supporting a stable and focused operation with approximately 25 colleagues. The facility is climate controlled and staffed by approximately 25 employees, all working on first shift, fostering a collaborative and consistent team atmosphere. Dress attire consists of jeans, steel-toed boots, and a work shirt, reflecting a practical, hands-on environment where safety and comfort are prioritized.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wichita, KS.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
