A school counselor works alongside school faculty/staff, students, parents, and community to plan, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive developmental guidance and counseling program at the assigned school.Qualifications:Education/Certification:Master's degree in CounselingValid Texas school counseling certificateMinimum three years of creditable years of teaching experienceSpecial Knowledge/Skills:Knowledge of school counseling procedures, social/emotional learning, student academic and career development. Child behavior management and emotional regulation techniques.Other Skills and Abilities Required:Maintain positive and professional communication (i.e. email, written, and verbal) Maintain professional and emotional composurePromote a positive, caring environmentWork with and respond consistently and equitably to all personnel, students, and parents/guardians Communicate and support expectations that are consistent with district counseling program objectives Interpret policies and proceduresSalary: AP PG5/10.5 months
