Overview
Kooskia is seeking compassionate and dedicated Personal Caregivers to join our team. We provide comprehensive, free training to help you develop the skills needed to deliver exceptional care to our residents. Duties
Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
Provide patient observation and monitor vital signs to ensure safety and well-being
Support residents with medication administration following care plans and HIPAA guidelines
Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption as needed
Maintain a clean and safe environment through light cleaning and sanitation routines
Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts and assist with transfers for residents with mobility challenges
Engage residents in social activities and provide companionship to promote mental well-being
Document care provided accurately and report any changes in resident condition to supervising staff
Follow all safety protocols, including CPR and first aid procedures, to ensure resident safety at all times
Collaborate with healthcare teams, social workers, and family members to deliver personalized care plans
Skills
Prior experience or familiarity with assisted living, nursing homes, or home health care is preferred but not required; training is provided
Knowledge of patient observation, monitoring vital signs, and medication administration is advantageous
Experience working with people with developmental disabilities, autism, dementia, Alzheimer's, or memory care needs is a plus
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with transfers using equipment like Hoyer lifts
Strong communication skills for effective interaction with residents, families, and team members
Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to provide high-quality senior care and support for individuals with disabilities or chronic conditions
Basic understanding of HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards in healthcare settings
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
