We welcome applicants at all experience levels, including Advanced-Level Technologists.In this role, you’ll work with a supportive team while performing a variety of imaging procedures with a high level of independence and clinical judgment.Schedule & CommitmentWe’ve outlined the schedule clearly so you know exactly what to expect:Core ScheduleMonday–Friday: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PMWeekend RotationEvery other month rotation:Month 1: Work onsiteSaturday & Sunday: 7:30 AM – 3:30 PMMonth 2: On-call coverageSaturday 7:00 AM → Sunday 11:30 PMOn-Call ExpectationsWeekday on-call: Approximately 4–5 days per month, after shift until 9:00 PMHoliday Commitment1 holiday per year worked onsite: 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM1 additional holiday on-call: 7:00 AM – 11:30 PMWhat You’ll DoPerform diagnostic imaging procedures independently using established protocolsUtilize advanced imaging equipment to capture and document high-quality imagesReview physician orders and patient history to ensure accurate imagingFollow patient identification and safety protocols at all timesAdminister oral and rectal contrast per policyEnsure all exams are:Accurately documented in the EMRProperly coded and tracked in RISSuccessfully archived in ISITECorrectly chargedAdjust imaging techniques as needed using clinical judgment and critical thinkingWhat Makes You a Great FitAbility to work independently with confidence and sound judgmentStrong attention to detail and commitment to quality imagingExcellent communication skills and ability to put patients at easeA team-oriented approach with a focus on efficient, compassionate careAbility to adapt in a fast-paced environment and respond to patient needsWhy Join UPMC Williamsport?Supportive, collaborative team environmentVariety in patient population and imaging casesOpportunity to grow within the UPMC career ladderPredictable core schedule with clearly defined call expectationsGraduate of an ARRT-approved School of Radiologic Technology OR documentation verifying program completion with a scheduled graduation dateIf hired prior to graduation:Must work under indirect supervision of an ARRT-certified Diagnostic Technologist until degree is verifiedNot eligible to work in an outpatient setting until ARRT certification is obtainedLicensure, Certifications, and ClearancesRadiologic Certification RequirementsMust be ARRT registry eligible at time of hireMust obtain ARRT Radiography certification within:6 months of hire (effective January 1, 2025)12 months of hire/transfer if hired before January 1, 2025Outpatient work is not permitted until ARRT certification is obtainedCPR / BLS RequirementCPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) requiredMust meet American Heart Association (AHA) standards, including hands-on skills demonstrationRequired within 30 days of hireTemporary Permit (if applicable)May practice under a temporary permit with:Direct supervision of a licensed Radiologic TechnologistMust obtain ARRT certification within 180 days of permit issue dateTemporary permit expires at the earliest of:180 days from issuanceNotification of license denial10 days after failing the licensing examNew York Licensure (if applicable)Must hold certification from:ARRT orNuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)Must be licensed through the New York State Department of HealthARRT CertificateBasic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewalAct 33 with renewalAct 34 with renewalAct 73 FBI Clearance with renewalUPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran
