A minimum of 2 years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity: Registered Nurse - PCU Job Details: • Work 12-hour night shifts with 1:3-4 patient ratios • 36 or 48 hours per week available for 13-week contracts • Every other weekend requirement • Floating required to sister ICCU unit as needed • Minimum 2 years of experience required, accepts first-time travelers • Must have strong drip experience with arterial lines and titrating vasoactive drips • Required certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIH stroke scale • Must pass EKG testing prior to start • Experience required with PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown, telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation and management • Must be skilled in IV insulin protocols, blood product administration, central line care, PICC line management, heparin protocols • Experience with chest tubes, external CPAP/BIPAP, high flow nasal cannula, tracheostomy management required • Must be comfortable with conscious sedation and isolation precautions • Work with Epic charting system and Pyxis medication management • Dress code: Navy, white scrubs or combination of both • Hospital orientation required first week with mandatory daily classes • Maximum 7 days RTO allowed, no block scheduling permitted • Cannot work more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week Facility: This healthcare facility operates a Progressive Care Unit that functions similar to an ICU stepdown unit with 20 beds and an average daily census of 18 patients. The unit specializes in caring for post-rapid response patients, those with respiratory distress, unstable hemodynamics, withdrawal management, GI bleeds, and various post-operative patients.
