This role offers the opportunity to build strong technical skills while working alongside experienced professionals who are invested in your growth. You will work with senior engineers and designers to support infrastructure design, construction observation, contract administration, land and earthworks analysis, stormwater management, and studies for feasibility, servicing, drainage, and property development potential. Furthermore, you will evaluate, select, specify, and design systems or products, perform calculations, and assist with field activities as required.This position can be located in either are Austin, San Antonio or Houston offices.Your Key ResponsibilitiesSupports project team in development of design documentation, plans, and reports for relevant commercial and residential development and public infrastructure projectsPerforms civil design using knowledge of relevant software programsWorks with other engineering disciplines and professionals in the coordination of the project under the direction of a senior engineer/ designerPerforms field work as directed by a senior engineer/ designerPerforms basic calculations to analyze and design civil system components using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer softwareAssists with engineering duties on projects of various complexityAssists with collecting data and gathering information to support design decisionsAssists in basic interpretation and verifying compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards and practicesConstructs models to identify project specifications and meet related needs by performing routing aspects of engineering assignmentsPerforms other duties as assigned by the senior engineering staffYour Capabilities and CredentialsBasic understanding of general concepts of relevant areas of civil engineering designAbility to participate and collaborate in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thoughtUnderstanding of civil engineering concepts and ability to effectively communicate ideas to othersAbility to interpret sketches, drawings, and other similar materialStrong written and verbal communication skillsRequires understanding of Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD Civil 3DDeveloping cooperative skills in working efficiently within a teamEducation and ExperienceBachelor’s degree or equivalent in Civil EngineeringEIT Texas Certification or scheduled to take the exam within one year of degree completionMinimum of 0-2 years of experience; Internship experience preferredThis description is not a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that may be required of the employee and other duties, responsibilities and activities may be assigned or may be changed at any time with or without notice.About StantecStantec is a global leader in sustainable engineering, architecture, and environmental consulting.
