The Operations Engineer will lead projects to completion in a cost-effective and timely manner, handle multiple projects, and plan, prioritize and execute assignments.Essential Functions And ResponsibilitiesSustain existing manufacturing linesEnsure manufacturing processes run consistently and meet performance targets by reducing costs, maximizing efficiency, and minimizing manufacturing downtimeImprove manufacturing processes by leveraging lean principles, good manufacturing practices, and six sigma methodologiesLead engineering projects and track project progressDesign, build and/or purchase fixtures, equipment and tools as needed to increase efficiency, ergonomics, safety, and qualityCollaborate with other engineers to analyze manufacturing/assembly issues and identify, test and implement the most effective solutions in a timely mannerConduct equipment and process validations, qualifications, and verificationsFoster an environment of continuous improvement and provide support to internal customers in a variety of functional areasCollaborate with cross functional teams to transfer new products into production by providing recommendations regarding product design, assembly techniques and manufacturing processesOther duties as assigned Education Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preference for concentration in mechanical, electrical, or industrial Experience/Knowledge5+ years of work experience in a manufacturing/operations environmentMechanical/electrical problem-solving skills requiredAbility to read and interpret drawings and or schematicsCAD ExperienceProven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlinesLeadership and communication abilities to guide cross-functional teams Preferred Experience and QualificationsAutomation ExperienceMetal stamping and tool & die experience a plusExperience with Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing, SPC, TPMProficient in AutoCAD 3D and SAP Physical Requirements and Work EnvironmentSitting at workstation approximately 30 percent of work timeStanding and walking approximately 70 percent of work timeMust be able to travel up to 5% of work timeAbility to work overtime or occasionally on weekends with short noticeTypical office environment with shelves overhead and above work surfacesNewell Brands (NASDAQ: NWL) is a leading global consumer goods company with a strong portfolio of well-known brands, including Rubbermaid, Sharpie, Graco, Coleman, Rubbermaid Commercial Products, Yankee Candle, Paper Mate, FoodSaver, Dymo, EXPO, Elmer’s, Oster, NUK, Spontex and Campingaz.
