Machine Programmer / OperatorLocation: Jacksonville, Florida, 32095Pay: $30-35/hourJob DescriptionThis role combines CNC programming, machine setup, operation, routine maintenance, and inspection in a busy machine shop environment. You will program parts, prepare and run machines, and verify that finished components meet precise specifications and quality standards.ResponsibilitiesProgram machining operations using Mastercam or a comparable CAM software to produce accurate and efficient toolpaths.Review blueprints and technical drawings to understand job requirements, dimensions, and tolerances before programming and setup.Set up machines by installing and securing fixtures, rails, clamps, and other tooling required for each job.Load and indicate parts or workpieces to ensure correct alignment and positioning prior to machining.Operate machines by loading and unloading parts for each job, monitoring the process, and making adjustments as needed to maintain quality and efficiency.Perform routine maintenance, including changing filters, replacing DI tanks, emptying used wire bins, loading new spools of wire, and cleaning tanks and work areas.Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools to confirm they meet drawing specifications and tight tolerances.Collaborate with quality control personnel to verify part compliance and address any nonconformance issues.Support lathe operations and assembly tasks as needed to meet production requirements.Follow established safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area within the machine shop.Operate forklifts or other material-handling equipment, when required, to move materials and parts safely.Essential SkillsProficiency in programming CNC machines using Mastercam or similar CAM software.Hands-on experience setting up machines, including installing fixtures, rails, clamps, and other tooling.Demonstrated ability to operate CNC machines, including loading and unloading parts for each job.Experience performing routine machine maintenance such as changing filters, handling DI tanks, managing used wire bins, loading new wire spools, and cleaning tanks.Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.Experience working with tight tolerances and maintaining high levels of accuracy.Proficiency using precision measuring tools to inspect parts and verify dimensions.Comfort working in a loud machine shop environment.Experience working with quality control processes to ensure parts meet drawing and specification requirements.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with lathe operations in a production or job shop environment.Experience in assembly work related to machined components.Forklift operating experience or willingness to learn and become certified, as required.Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.Ability to work collaboratively with quality control and production teams.Solid problem-solving skills and the ability to adjust setups or programs to improve results.Why Work Here?You will work in a hands-on environment where your technical skills in programming, setup, and machining are highly valued and continuously developed.
