It is a chance to build data capabilities people will rely on every day.Here's What Your Day-to-Day Could IncludeBuild software that transforms raw, complex, and unstructured data into clean, high-quality, analysis-ready datasetsDevelop repeatable data processing capabilities that support analytics, predictive modeling, and decision-makingUse Python to automate data handling, preprocessing, and transformation workflowsWork with structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data across a range of mission use casesSupport distributed data processing using tools such as Apache SparkUse Jupyter Notebook, pandas, and NumPy to explore, validate, and prepare dataImprove data quality through validation, anomaly detection, and repeatable engineering practicesCollaborate with teammates to build reliable, scalable workflows and document solutions clearlyMinimum QualificationsClearance: Top Secret Clearance with Full Scope Polygraph, must be active. We cannot sponsor visasMaster's degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus three years of experience as a Software Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexityBachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus five years of experience as a Software Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexitySeven years of experience as a Software Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexityRequired SkillsExperience using the Linux CLI and Linux toolsExperience developing Bash scripts to automate manual processesRecent software development experience using PythonFamiliarity with distributed big data processing engines including Apache SparkExperience using Jupyter NotebookExperience with data wrangling and preprocessing tools such as pandas and NumPyExperience working with structured, semi-structured, and unstructured dataFamiliarity with data quality concepts, data validation, and anomaly detectionExperience with Git source control systemDesired SkillsFamiliarity with Apache Airflow, including DAG design, scheduling, operators, and sensors, to orchestrate, schedule, and monitor complex workflowsFamiliarity with SQL technologies such as MySQL, MariaDB, and PostgreSQL for querying, joining, and aggregating large datasetsFamiliarity with HPC job scheduling tools including SlurmExperience using the Atlassian tool suite, including Jira and ConfluenceCompensation Range: $155,000.00 - $205,000.00*The salary range provided reflects an estimate based on current market trends and may be adjusted based on factors such as the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications.
